A bug in Apple Watch allows you to listen to other people’s conversations (3 photos)

One of the popular applications in the smart watch Apple Watch was disabled due to a vulnerability. The “Walkie-talkie” function allowed the owners of smart watches to talk with each other according to the principle used in traditional walkie-talkies. For the first time this application appeared in watchOS 5. However, during operation, an error was detected that allowed you to listen to conversations on extraneous iPhone. The technical details of the identified vulnerability are not disclosed. Apple experts said that special conditions are needed to exploit the vulnerability. Currently, there is no information on the use of developers flaws for criminal purposes. The “Walkie-talkie” application itself remains on the gadgets of users in a deactivated state, and the time to resume operation is not reported. Despite Apple’s numerous claims that its devices are the safest in the world, users constantly find vulnerabilities in apple technology or software. So just a few months ago, the company fixed a vulnerability in FaceTime, which also allowed listening to extraneous conversations. After some time, a problem was discovered in a third-party application for Zoom video calls, which allowed unauthorized switching on the camcorder on gadgets running macOS. Apple has uninstalled the Zoom app from user devices on its own.
