Antitrust Service decided to help Russian developers

Антимонопольная служба решила помочь российским разработчикам The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS) has put forward a proposal on the mandatory installation of Russian applications on smartphones and tablets released for the Russian market. The FAS believes that it is necessary to encourage Russian application creators by law. It is proposed to install not only popular core services, but also their Russian counterparts. The department considered that this way the user will be given greater freedom of choice, and developers can go global. The FAS came up with another initiative – to allow users to delete all pre-installed applications, except for those technically necessary for the device to work correctly. The service referred to the frequent complaints of citizens about the impossibility of removing programs. The Antimonopoly Service emphasized that its proposals will be useful both to the public and will stimulate competition in the software market.
