Almost a year has passed since the announcement of Microsoft and Qualcomm about the beginning of joint activities with the aim of developing Windows 10 for Snapdragon chips. Recent reports made in Hong Kong by Microsoft manager Pete Bernard indicate that the collaboration is already bringing tangible benefits – laptops running Windows 10 equipped with ARM processors last about two days, according to a Microsoft top manager. The main task of the developers was the desire to achieve the most energy-efficient laptops by optimizing the operating system for Snapdragon mobile chips with maximum autonomy from a single battery charge. As a result of the joint activities of the two companies, prototypes of laptops on ARM processors have already been created that can work without charging for 48 hours. By the end of this year, Microsoft plans to begin shipping the first serial laptops running on Qualcomm mobile processors to the market. Among the manufacturers releasing new items will be HP, Lenovo and Asus.
