On September 10, Apple unveiled a new version of the Filmic Pro application. It can use several cameras on the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro at once. Due to this, it is possible, for example, to shoot simultaneously from the main and front cameras or to capture an image from the main module and ultra-wide, which is why it gets into the frame more than in normal mode.
Multi-camera recording became possible after the appearance of a special API in iOS 13 and iPadOS, and this innovation is available not only on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, but also on older iPhone models (XR, XS and XS Max) and iPad Pro 2018 year. Such a shooting creates a significant load on the processor and memory, which means that the battery charge is consumed more rapidly.
Apple opened access to this API to developers back in June 2019, which means that they can already embed multi-camera capabilities into their applications. An updated version of Filmic Pro is not yet available, it will be released later this year, but it is not known exactly when.
