According to statistics, in the vast majority of cars on the roads there is only one person, and this is the driver. Given this fact, the Canadian company Electra Meccanica intends to release a serial version of the three-wheeled electric car Solo. The tricycle, with a single seat, can accelerate to 100 km / h in 8 seconds, the maximum speed is 130 km / h. Thanks to the wedge-shaped body of the electric car, the aerodynamic drag coefficient is 0.24. A 82-horsepower (190 Nm) aluminum electric motor located on the rear axle drives the car. The battery capacity is 16.1 kWh, which allows Solo to travel 160 km on a single charge – enough to get from home to work and back. Recharging the battery from the 220 V network takes only 3 hours. Despite its compact dimensions (length is 3.05 m, width is 1.21 m, and height is 1.28 m), Solo has two luggage compartments with a total volume of 285 liters. In addition, there is a sound system with Bluetooth support, a USB port, a CD player, a digital dashboard, power windows, a rear view camera, air conditioning and halogen optics. The Electra Meccanica Solo will go on sale in 2017, and so far the manufacturer has announced a pre-order for the new product. Estimated price – $ 15 500.
