From the SLC-40 launch complex, which was restored after the explosion last September, Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA) launched the Falcon 9 launch vehicle and Dragon cargo ship owned by SpaceX Ilona Mask. Earlier, launches of the first stage of the rocket and the Dragon ship were already made, but for the first time both spacecraft flying at once were launched simultaneously. This is a very important circumstance, since the reusable use of returned rocket components can reduce launch costs by up to $ 20 million. During the year, SpaceX has already completed 16 Dragon launches, 12 of which were Commercial Resupply Services missions for delivering cargo to the ISS. The last, 13th mission, delivered to the station a cargo weighing 2180 kg, consisting of the scientific equipment necessary for the operation of the space debris tracking system, stocks for the crew, and details necessary for the station. The first stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle has already returned to Earth, and the Dragon spaceship with the results of research on the ISS should return in a month, landing in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Baja California (Mexico).
