For the first time, Magic Leap startup, which announced the creation of a branded autonomous AR device with a helmet-glasses and a computer unit worn on the belt, started talking about three years ago. But for all this time, even large investors, represented by corporations such as Google and Alibaba, have not seen a live prototype of the promised device. In spectacular demos, the mysterious invention also never appeared. And so, Business Insider published a photograph that allegedly captures the Magic Leap prototype Augmented Reality system. It is reported that the photo shows a sample device, codenamed PEQ0. The prototype consists of a computing module with a battery behind it and a headset on its head, which are interconnected by wires. A bulky controller is visible in the human hand, which is also connected to the main system by a thick wire. According to Business Insider, this prototype was tested in early January 2017, and since then the startup has redesigned the device. The updated computing unit has decreased in size and already fits in a bag on the belt, but its photo is missing. It is expected that a prototype AR-headset in mid-February will be presented at a meeting of shareholders. Will the technical characteristics of the product and the date of the official release to the market be disclosed after this, is not specified. However, the fact that the device still looks incomplete means that its official release will not take place soon. Magic Leap startup did not confirm the veracity of the picture.
