Enthusiasts have found that Segway’s gyro scooter software has some flaws. Hackers were able to connect to the Segway MiniPro model, being 60 meters from the device, and disconnect it. Such manipulations are terrible unpleasant falls. The gyro scooter can control the smartphone via the Bluetooth transmitter built into the Segway MiniPro. Turning off the channel would allow the owner to protect himself, but this function is not provided in the device. The PIN code, which the owner knows and helps prevent the connection of third-party devices, turned out to be not such a reliable security option. According to the IOActive check, there was no check of the update source in Segway either. Therefore, any hacker could download malicious software into the system, and this is fraught with unforeseen developments. All the facts revealed were transferred to the manufacturer, who managed to deal with security holes. It is hoped that now no one will hinder riding a gyro scooter.
