Landing a self-driving drone on a moving car

One way to increase the drone flight time is to reduce its mass. The German Aerospace Center (or DLR) decided to find out whether drones, like the Penguin BE model, are required to equip the chassis, if an alternative method of landing, for example, on a moving car with a special grid, is developed. Before landing, the aircraft’s downward-facing cameras scan the space, and after recognizing the site, the Penguin BE begins to decline. In the video presented, the car moves at a speed of about 70 km / h. Unmanned aerial vehicles, such as the Titan Aerospace Solara 50 model, are designed for continuous flights for several months or even years, and therefore the presence of the chassis of the car may not be necessary if an alternative landing method is provided cars. 8caa42f5a9df53968033bf99609e44f6
