In early summer, Lenovo created the ZUK division, which is engaged in the development of software and the production of smartphones. Products should compete primarily with the most popular Chinese smartphone brands Meizu, Xiaomi and Huawei. First of all, the products will be sold in China, although the appearance in other markets is not excluded.
Today announced the first smartphone units called ZUK Z1.
Looking at the design of the smartphone, its shell and some functional elements, you get a déjà vu sensation: visually the smartphone looks like the Chinese favorite iPhone, as well as the aforementioned devices Meizu, Xiaomi and Huawei. The frame is made of metal, and at the bottom there is a speaker with the already familiar large, round speaker holes and a symmetrical USB Type-C 3.0 connector.
Under the screen is the U-Touch button, which serves as a fingerprint scanner. She is also responsible for returning back (touching), to the home screen (pressing), the menu of active applications (double-tap) and switching between applications using swipes. Functionality and name are reminiscent of MeTu’s mTouch. Speaking of similarity, the package resembled that in Nexus 9:
Features: 5.5-inch iPS-display with FullHD resolution, brightness of 450 cd / m2, contrast ratio of 1500: 1 and 100% coverage of NTSC color space. Inside is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock frequency of 2.5 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The battery capacity is 4100 mAh. The main camera module is Sony IMX214 with a resolution of 13 megapixels, an optical stabilization system and a lens with an aperture of F / 2.2. 8MP front camera.
The smartphone has two slots for SIM cards, and the gadget runs on Android 5.1.1 with its own shell, which is very similar to MIUI 6. They rated the smartphone at $ 285.
