A group of specialists from the University of Washington has published a video on YouTube that shows the principles of a new phone that does not require a battery to work. The model uses the backscatter principle, which allows communication due to reflected radio waves. That is, the device receives a charge from the base radio stations that are installed on all towers of mobile operators and in routers. At the same time, calls are exposed to the codec using the vibration of the headphones (speakers) and microphone. An analog method of data transfer can significantly reduce energy consumption. Of course, while the quality of mobile communications is not too high, however, work on the gadget continues. Soon, the development team is sure that they will be able to improve the miracle phone.
