The National American Space Agency announced the discovery of a new exoplanet similar to Earth. It revolves around a star comparable to our Sun, and most likely has reserves of liquid water. An exoplanet located in the constellation Cygnus was discovered using the Kepler telescope, launched six years ago specifically to search for such celestial bodies. While the planet is called Kepler-452b. It is 60% larger than the Earth, and receives a little more energy from the nearest star than our planet from the Sun.
A year lasts 385 days, and the distance to us is 1.4 thousand light years. An exoplanet-warming star is one and a half billion years older than the Sun. According to scientists, Kepler-452b spent about six billion years in the habitable zone of its star and will continue to be in it for another half billion years.
