The Spanish company Nua Bikes introduced a completely new electric bike. It is lightweight, compact, similar to a regular bike and also does not need to be recharged. The Nua Electrica design includes a titanium frame, a 160 Wh battery, a control system, a 250-watt motor, a typical bike chassis with a minimum body kit, where the Zehus Bike + power module is installed, as well as a motor integrated into the rear wheel, it only produces a carbon belt transmission from Gates. Management of Nua Bikes is carried out using a smartphone. When fully charged, the electric bike can travel on flat terrain up to 30 kilometers. Nua Bikes has a “self-charging” mode, when it is activated, the system uses any convenient moment to charge the batteries from pedaling, while minimizing the load on the user’s legs. The batteries are recharged when moving down the slope, at this moment the regenerative braking energy conversion system is turned on. The bike does not stop moving even when the batteries are dead, because the design weighs 13 kilograms and can be dispersed using the traditional way of riding a regular bicycle. The developers note that, theoretically, the forced recharging of the batteries of an electric bike will be needed only a few times during the entire operation. The novelty will cost 4.5 thousand dollars.
