Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has entered the race for the creation of gadgets with a flexible display. At a private presentation, the company demonstrated a prototype folding smartphone with a bendable display, the diagonal of which is more than 7 inches. Reportedly, work on the device began in August 2015, and in February of this year, the developers managed to create a fully functioning prototype. The main characteristics of the new items are not specified, it is only known that it runs on the Android operating system and supports ultra-fast charging VOOC, which in 5 minutes restores the battery charge from 3% to 57%. Information about the exact implementation date of the presented flexible display in a specific commercial product is missing. It is expected that in 2017, the Korean company Samsung will be released with a similar device, but whether it will be able to become the first is unknown.
