Razer brought experimental prototypes of a gaming laptop with three 4K displays of Project Valerie and a projector for immersion in Project Ariana games at the CES 2017 International Consumer Electronics Show. Both new items were not intended for sale, and best practices were offered only to partners. Either someone liked the gadgets too much, or industrial espionage worked, but both gadgets were stolen right from the stand at CES. For several days, they could not find out about the location of the devices and the thieves, and even the $ 25,000 reward promised by Razer management for information about criminals did not contribute to a favorable resolution of the situation. But it turned out that the criminals were not going to hide and decided to act insolently: to sell at least a laptop at an online auction. At least a lot in the form of Project Valerie appeared on the Chinese trading platform Taobao.com. The criminal decided to bail out 150,000 yuan for a unique laptop, which is equivalent to $ 21,700. It took only 4 days from the moment he was stolen, and during that time a 5-pound laptop was transported from Las Vegas to China. It’s just whether, indeed, the seller had an exhibition model in his hands, is still unknown. It may well turn out that a certain sly man decided to cash in on a gullible buyer, without having a laptop in his hands (the Chinese police are already versed in the incident). The fate of the stolen projector Razer Project Ariana is not yet known.
