As it turned out, Samsung at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 demonstrated prototypes of smartphones with a bending screen created on OLED technology, but only behind closed doors and only to a limited circle of people. Informed sources say that Two devices showed a closed presentation without a press: the first bends inward and the second outward. Naturally, the bending radius of the prototype, folding inward, was less than that of a smartphone, folding outward. At the same time, the diagonal of the displays for both prototypes was 7.3 inches. According to eyewitnesses, the presented models are fully ready for serial launch and do not need additional improvements. There is an opinion that the first smartphones using this technology will be presented in the form of “clamshells” when the minimized screen is protected by a rigid case. It is assumed that the new items will become part of the Samsung Galaxy Note line. More detailed information for a wide range of users will most likely be announced during the MWC 2018 in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1. The production of smartphones with bending screens is planned to begin at the end of 2018.
