In honor of the celebration of its tenth anniversary, the VKontakte social network announced a joint project with Roscosmos, in which the first Russian spacecraft Spotty will be delivered aboard the International Space Station. While the robot is under development, but by the spring of 2017, it will be fully completed and will go to the ISS as part of the 51st space expedition in order to carry out its educational activities from there. Spotty will become the satellite of our astronauts and the “mishandled Cossack” of earthlings – with its help people will be able to directly ask questions about the structure of the ISS, the nuances of life in space, health, activities, workdays of its inhabitants, and so on. In addition, the space bot will transmit to Earth photos and videos of what is happening on the orbital complex and beyond, and will also be able to receive content from users of the VKontakte social network to broadcast it through a small projector to the astronauts. The first prototype, Spotty, created based on various algorithms and neural networks, it is now made of aluminum in the form of a ball with an LED screen, a camera and a speaker, but six months before the flight, the appearance of the robot, as well as its internal component, can change. In particular, the claimed projector will appear in it. According to the plan, the Russian spacecraft will have to work out a 10-year shift on the ISS, and therefore the hull will be made of better and more durable material. All options for Spotty, who are not destined to go into space, will find refuge as an exposition of the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics.
