Steam users risk losing their account and money

Пользователи Steam рискуют потерять свой аккаунт и деньги A member of the Reddit forum under the nickname R3TR1X openly announced a discovered exploit in the Steam service, which starts working at the moment when the user clicks on a link to someone’s Steam profile. The author refused to reveal the essence of the security breach, so that other dishonest people would not use it for personal gain. According to R3TR1X, the vulnerability could act as a redirect to a phishing page. Having completed the transition, the user who is not aware of the danger can disclose information from his account to third parties, because of which he may subsequently lose not only his account, but also money on bank cards tied to the Steam gaming service. While the vulnerability is open, R3TR1X recommends Steam service participants do not share links to their profiles, do not switch to suspicious and unknown profiles, and temporarily disable JavaScript in the settings of mobile and stationary browsers. Or turn on the mobile authenticator after checking the smartphone for viruses.
