The first body scanner in the world is launched (video) A three-dimensional picture of the whole human body can now be obtained without difficulty. The developers of the world’s first medical scanner EXPLORER were convinced of this. It works on the basis of a combination of X-ray computed tomography and positron emission tomography. It takes only one second to display the image on the device’s screen. So, in the future you can track how certain processes affect the human body in real time. Scientists took 13 years to create EXPLORER. The developers did their best. Thanks to the new scanner, you can see details that no devices had shown before. A complete diagnostic examination will take up to 30 seconds. In this case, the radiation dose during scanning is up to 40 times less than with positron emission tomography. Therefore, frequent examinations on the new scanner can be assigned even to children. The device is expected to enter the market in early summer 2019.
