In recent years, a number of companies producing electric vehicles have been actively working on creating single-seat models. The goal is maximum maneuverability in a city. But many of them are thinking about how an electric car with significant capacity should look like. The iEV 1 team in Düsseldorf recently demonstrated its own version of a small electric car called the iEV X. It can change its dimensions to meet the changing needs of the owners. For example, if a second passenger appears or if bulk cargo is required. The size of the single-seat modification is 78 x 160 centimeters. If the load increases, a special sliding mechanism increases the parameters to 190 and 220 centimeters, respectively. The second seat located behind the back folds while the sides remain open. According to the project, the base model weighs 115 kilograms. It was equipped with a 48 volt lithium-ion battery. It is designed for mileage of 60 kilometers with a car speed of 45 kilometers per hour. During parking, the battery is charged from a 40-watt solar panel. The performance of the iEV X + model is higher. Its weight is 145 kilograms, a battery of 72 volts. Mileage increased to 120 kilometers, speed up to 60 kilometers per hour. The solar panel has 60 watts. They want to supplement the novelty with a robotic automatic charging system. As well as pedals that regulate battery power. There are additional functions: a wide-angle rear view camera, side water-repellent mirrors, a 7-inch touch screen, LED lighting system, a steel chassis, and aluminum body panels. The cost of the base model starts at € 2,650. How much the iEV X is able to protect its riders in an accident on the road is not specified.
