Scientists have created a new material by applying a magnetic alloy to a silicon substrate. With the updated battery, the structure has become similar to a honeycomb. The main property of this development lies in limiting the amount of heat generated by the battery. Thanks to this, the energy consumption of the battery is significantly reduced. The material is quite simple in composition. A permalloy magnetic alloy, which consists of nickel and iron, is deposited on a silicon structure in the format of a honeycomb. Due to this structure, the battery receives exclusively unidirectional current. The risks of failures during charging are reduced. The authors of this development are convinced of its broad prospects. This is assured by the physicist Deepak Singh, who led the work on a unique battery. According to him, replacing the usual semiconductors with a magnetic system, they will create an energy-efficient product. Having received enhanced functionality, it will consume significantly less power. It is not yet clear whether the researchers tested the battery in a real smartphone. And also, are there any side effects from its use, and what are they. However, their work should become the basis for the creation of a new generation of batteries.
