The hot temper of the Snaopdragon 810 mobile processor forced Xiaomi to freeze the release of the new flagship smartphone Mi 5. As a result, this year we did not wait for the release of the new product. It was rumored that the company was eyeing MediaTek solutions, but the latest Geekbench benchmark data refute this information. A synthetic test showed the mention of a Xiaomi smartphone codenamed gemini (translated as “twins”). The processor was the new single-chip platform Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996), and the amount of RAM in Xiaomi Mi 5 was 3 GB. However, the Geekbench test could pass the basic version of the flagship model. The flagship Meizu Pro 5, for example, is also offered in two versions – with 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. The Mi5 operating system will be Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
