United States Corporation Radetec showcased an improved version of the Glock 17 pistol at the SHOT Show 2019 held in Las Vegas. Note that now there are 2 types of cartridge counters – electronic and mechanical. In the first case, the remaining ammunition is counted by shots, in the second – the ammunition indicator is affected through the pushing spring available in the store. Of course, this option is optional. After all, a special shutter gate usually indicates an empty store. During the shootout, there is no time to consult the indicator at all. Nevertheless, Radetec specialists created a Smart Slide shutter with an ammunition counter and a display for the Glock 17 army pistol (Austria). The modified gun is able to report whether the cartridge was in the chamber, whether the magazine is inserted in the handle and how many cartridges are left in it. For this, the shutter was equipped with an OLED screen, a cartridge sensor, a controller and a Bluetooth module. It can be connected wirelessly with a pusher that can determine its own position in the store. The controller reports the exact number of rounds in the magazine. It doesn’t matter if they removed it from the gun, or fully or partially charged it. Smart Slide is compatible with a smartphone app that displays details of weapon usage statistics.
