Developers from Israel showed a prototype of a hybrid aircraft that can move on land. The Flying STAR (FSTAR) quadrocopter moves on the ground at a speed of up to 2.5 m / s, flies at a speed of up to 15 m / s and at the same time uses the same engines and structural parts. Four vertically directed quadrocopter rotors during landing deviate from the vertical, and the driving force is transmitted to the wheels to move on a hard surface. Autonomous power supply to the transformer drone is enough for 20 minutes of operation. A new invention may be necessary for use in urban environments when traveling on narrow streets or in mountainous areas on rough terrain. The drone can sit on the roofs of houses, work inside large diameter pipes and penetrate into inaccessible places. The Flying STAR multifunctionality is useful in rescue operations, can be used by the military or when performing agricultural work. An unmanned aerial vehicle will be able to quickly deliver cargo of a small (up to 400 grams) mass, which is indispensable when providing first aid to victims of natural disasters or in battle. The developers plan to create a series of similar drones that perform specific tasks. For this, both larger and miniature UAVs will be released.
