The prototype of this future unmanned taxi was demonstrated at CES 2016. Now, after passing about a thousand tests, a public demonstration flight was carried out with a person on board and a small video of this event was presented. In the passenger seat of the drone Ehang 184 was the CEO of a Chinese developer and manufacturer drone. The demonstration flight took about 7 minutes, the deputy mayor of Guangzhou, the industrial center of China, attended the presentation. The presented unmanned vehicle is supposed to be used as a vehicle for short flights in densely populated cities. The maximum flight range is 15 km or about 23 minutes on a single battery charge. The highest speed of movement is 130 km / h, altitude is 300 meters. Advanced software allows the Ehang 184 to fly in bad weather, in strong winds and fog, and make a safe landing at a precisely designated location. The control can be automatic or manual with the help of several elementary commands. The next step will be to obtain administrative permits for flights, coordination with the authorities of the rules for safe movement of a new vehicle. Currently, Ehang has received permission to fly in Dubai and to conduct flight tests in Nevada (USA). In the video, CEO Ehang mentions the summer of 2018 as the time when the company is likely to launch drones in mass production.
