Xiaomi has officially unveiled the flagship smartphone Mi 6, which replaced last year’s Mi5 and Mi5S. Visually one gets the impression that the new product is not much different from its predecessors, but this is only at first glance. Covered on both sides with 3D glass panels, curved around the edges, with a stainless steel frame, the Mi 6 boasts a modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which only Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8 + currently has, 6 GB of RAM, fresh Android OS Nougat and dual main camera system. Also in the flagship lineup there is a new color (blue) and a premium ceramic version with a camera outline made of 18 carat gold. Xiaomi, surprisingly, did not follow the trend of South Korean manufacturers – the side frames around the display are preserved, although they are minimal. Xiaomi Mi 6 received a 5.15-inch Full HD resolution display (1920 × 1080 pixels, ppi 600), Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor with a frequency of 2.45 GHz and Adreno 540 graphics, 6 GB of operational LPDDR4X and 64/128 memory, dual-channel Wi-Fi module with support for 802.11ac MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 wireless adapter, 4G LTE modem, NFC chip, modules for GPS navigation, GLONASS and Beidou, USB Type-C port, infrared sensor for controlling household appliances and a slot for two SIM cards. Unfortunately, the smartphone lost the 3.5-mm audio jack, but a couple of stereo speakers appeared. If the amplifier or DAC, Xiaomi does not report. The main camera is a system of two 12-megapixel Sony IMX 400 with a two-color flash, 4-axis optical stabilization and the ability to shoot video in 4K. One module is wide-angle, the second promises double optical zoom without loss of quality or 10-fold electronic (analogy with iPhone 7 Plus can be traced). Available portrait mode with background blur in photos. On the front side there is an 8-megapixel front module and an iris scanner. The battery capacity is 3350 mAh, which, according to Xiaomi, is enough for a full day of operation of the smartphone, even with an intensive mode of use. There is protection against moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard. Xiaomi Mi 6 will go on sale for $ 363 for a model with 64 GB of flash memory. The cost of the option with 128 GB of internal storage capacity is $ 421. The premium version with a ceramic case, gold trim and 128 GB of flash memory will cost $ 435. In China, sales will start on April 28th.
